My beat copy has an ad for a few of his previous releases including a 2LP set version of The Falconer's Arm (on Moe's Books Label? What?) on the back of the jacket putting this 2nd pressing toward latter '67 or onward I'd guess.

Seal of the blue LotusThe basic texture for this piece was taken from Ravi Shankar's "Dhun in Musra Mund," a raga invoking the Religious Springrasa Mood in Hindu Aesthetics. With this base I inject the Taoistic Taint of the Blue Lotus wich is a musical realm of my own. The guitar is tuned in the color blue, wich is standard Open G tuning with the 2nd and 4th strings dropped to a minor. Mountain Man's Farewell Sometimes I feel the flavor of Cosmic Essences: the hue of nature colours; Moods given to the airs of music

Robbie Basho - The Seal of the Blue Lotus
Review:
Seal of the Blue Lotus is the 1965 debut from the extraordinary folk guitarist Robbie Basho, who released numerous albums for John Fahey's Takoma label during the '60s. His mystical approach to six- and 12-string guitar improvisation shares many similarities to John Fahey in that Basho, too, was inspired by Eastern modalities -- his six-string melodies recalling the Indian ragas of Ravi Shankar's "Dhun in Musra Mund." "Mountain Man's Farewell" is an outstanding piece that displays the early seeds of a revolutionary guitar style that Basho, along with John Fahey and Sandy Bull, redefined American folk music. An essential document for folk guitar fans.
