Keep it cool and steady with a breaked start, make everybody move with a liquid/nu school middle, and finish the all mix with some oldies backed with new tracks, for a general shape wich stick deep into your mind. Some tracks of this live, like Data's Causeway, Logistics' Murderation or their own Justified are, of course, some future anthems, if their're not some kind of new painted and coloured walls in the old and cold streets of d'n'b.
The results are consistently impressive: "Creatures of Habit," by dBridge, is simply beautiful; it combines chunks (rather than the usual dubwise shreds) of a prettily sung love song along with a spare, hard breakbeat and wispy clouds of synth chords, while a threatening bassline emerges occasionally from the depths below.
Commix have put together a selection of tracks that takes any listener. This way of thinking is demonstrated perfectly on FABRICLIVE 44; the mix ebbs and flows effortlessly, swerving unnecessary frills or gimmicks entirely, it is measured and precise

The men behind the Metalheadz masterpiece Call to Mind say in the press notes that "to be honest,
a lot of the drum & bass scene depresses us at the moment; the whole state of the large majority of the scene is quite depressing.
In fact, we'd like to say it's almost completely removed from what we do.
" But while the duo are drafting in some minimal techno heavyweights for a forthcoming remix album,
their Fabriclive mix takes in names from drum & bass past and present such as Instra:mental, Rufige Crew, Logistics and Photek.
Says the duo, "Listening to this mix, we hear what drum & bass was when it started out?we hope to enlighten people about where it came from."
